January 2025
Christine Roland-Levy, IAAP Past-President (2022-2026), APAW Editor (2019-2024)
After being the Editor-in-Chief of Applied Psychology Around the World for over six years (the first issue was prepared in 2018 and published in January 2019), this is the Editorial Handover of APAW with the closing of the calendar year, but still in the Wood Dragon Year, for the last issue of the sixth volume of APAW.
In the Editorial of Volume 6, Issue 2, I had written: In a way, I would like this issue to be the last one I will be in charge of after started APAW when I began my term as President of IAAP in June 2018, and taking care of 6 Volumes and a total of 20 Issues… So, at the time, we were still looking for a new Editor-in-Chief for APAW…
Now, I am happy to announce that Volume 6 is ending with this issue, and that it is now in the hands of Professor Stuart C. Carr, Ph.D., who is a Professor at Massey University in New Zealand, as well as a UNESCO Chair on Sustainable Livelihoods.
As stated on the University of New Zealand webpage, “Stuart is known for applying organizational psychology, with inter-related disciplines, to poverty reduction. His research ‘breaks through’ into world-class applied journals, the OECD’s “Policy Insights” and UNESCO’s “Higher Education Policy.”
I am convinced that Stu will allow APAW to grow and to advance in focusing on how Applied Psychology and IAAP are influencing policies and Policy Makers around the world. I wish a long life to Applied Psychology around the World!
Do not forget that, an important yearly event started during my term, which is the Early Career Marathon, a 24 hour long scientific event Integrating Research and Practice. This time, this very stimulating event will take place in February 2025, the 22nd and 23rd. Do not hesitate to go to our dedicated webpage for more information.
Also, I hope that you are already getting ready for thought-provoking presentations at the International Congress of Applied Psychology, the ICAP, that will take place in Florence in July 2026, after eight years with no ICAP due to COVID-19. This will indeed be a great occasion to meet again and to network among Psychologists from around the world!
